Check out the pattern that the stylist uses to plait the hair before sewing the weave in. This will help in moisturizing the hair along the scalp directly.

Use a protein treatment fortnightly. This could be done before washing the hair since protein treatment on dry hair works better than when done on wet hair. This will help protect both the weave and the natural hair underneath.

Deep conditioning is also a great way through which to maintain moisture on your cheap human hair. Using essential oils such as olive oil will go a long way in trapping the moisture. Warm the oil and trace it along the plaiting done before sewing in as you massage the scalp. Wear a plastic cap and wrap your head with a warm towel. This helps to trap in moisture and keep the hair and weave well nourished.

Shampoo and condition the hair. Check beyond the weave to ensure that not only the top weave is dry but also deep within the plaiting.

Finish off any care routine by spraying your hair with a styling product. Style hair as usual.

DO'S and DON'T'S

DO always seal your wefts such as Brazilian hair weaves. This is not an option but rather a priority and should be done prior to any install.

DO not split the weft. Although many stylists like to do this - please know that splitting wefts are not necessary and will do more harm to the hair than good.

DO clip the ends of the hair every 6/8 weeks or at time of re-install

DON'T cut the wefts. If you cut the wefts, seal each end with weft glue right away.

DON'T use bristle brushes as they tend to latch onto hair fibers and rip them from the weft.

DON'T tie your hair back or pin up too tightly and never when it is wet. This pulls and stretches the hair wefts, causing it to shed and split.
